The Conestoga Valley Ministerium has formed a non-profit organization to address needs in our community. This organization has already been incorporated and named, Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services (CVCCS). We are a recognized 501c3 (non-profit) organization. We believe that more community needs can be met by working together through a formal organization than can be addressed through our individual churches and ministries.
To assess needs in the community the CVCCS will work with existing agencies and individuals such as Conestoga Valley School District Social Workers and Office of the Aging. The immediate goal is to meet crisis needs like food, clothing, heat, electricity, and avoiding eviction.
Some of these needs are being met by individual churches but in the current economic times the needs are multiplying beyond the ability for any one church to meet with their limited resources.
One of the long range goals is to address the lack of affordable housing by working with area landlords to designate units for affordable housing and also to build affordable housing units.
